Victoria Fuchs’s introduction
Volunteering in Nagyvázsony
Hello, my name is Victoria, I am 20 years old, and I am from Austria. I am going to spend the next 6 months as a volunteer from the European Solidarity Corps in Nagyvázsony. Here is some background information about me and my motivation to be a volunteer in Hungary: I did an apprenticeship to become an office clerk when I was 15 years old and the last 2 years I have worked in the sales department of a big company. At the beginning of this year, I decided to change my profession as I was no longer happy with my job. I rather want to work with people in the social sector. The time in Nagyvázsony gives me the possibility to gather some more experience in this sector. But why Hungary and Nagyvázsony? I decided because of the tasks a volunteer has in this village and of course because I want to learn more about the Hungarian culture. As it is a direct neighbouring country of Austria, but I have not been here before. I have to little godchildren and I really love to spend time with them and that is why I am happy to work in the kindergarten and that I have the possibility to get to know the youngest inhabitants of the village.
During the next months I hope to learn new skills and make new experiences, especially interpersonal experiences which teach me for my further life. I am looking forward to a great time in Hungary.
