24 young Europeans chosen to head to South America

Fekete Sereg Youth Association after 4 years coordinating a new challeging project the YO SE project have selected their volunteers to head to South America this summer! 8 Hungarian 8 Spanish volunteers, 8 French volunteers, and volunteers have been chosen to undertake short-term EVS projects in Colombia (La Corporación para el Desarollo Regional CDR), Paraguay (Puente sur Paraguay) and Uruguay (Centro de Estudios Paysandú CEP) over the course of July and August. Cazalla Intercultural (Spain), Pistes-Solidaires (France) and Fekete Sereg (Hungary) will then host 6 young Colombians, Uruguayans, and Paraguayans later this summer and autumn from our South American partners. The selection process concluded this month, and our 24 young people are now practising their Spanish and packing their bags, getting ready for long flights and enriching experiences! YO SE (Youth Opportunities in Social Economy) is a project through which the European and South American partners can share in the concept of social and solidarity economy. Best practices will be shared within the organisations and among local communities, and the EVS exchange is part of this. The young Europeans heading out to the other side of the Atlantic will start their pre-departure training in June; this training will prepare them for the experiences they will have this summer, and will help them get the most out of their volunteering. They are all very excited to go! Watch this space for more information about how they get on, and about the young South Americans that we will shortly be welcoming to Europe! Kandikó Rita
